Newport Beach to Cabo San Lucas

Alaska Eagle will be the communications boat for the 2009 Newport to Cabo San Lucas Race.  As escort boat, Alaska Eagle will start before the fleet and then duck into Turtle Bay allowing slower boats to catch up.  While Eagle won't be racing, she is an official part of the race.  There will be an emphasis on downwind sailing, navigation, anchoring and weather.  This is a great way to hone skills for those thinking of a Mexico trip on their own boat.  6 days.

Fee:  $1695
March 9-15, 2009

 Baja Bash

Often a rugged upwind sail, this is an ideal trip for those wishing to test their coastal skills in a variety of weather conditions.  Using a combination of motor and close hauled sailing, crews will learn the techniques of working up an exposed coatline against wind and current.  Stops may be made in well-known "weather holes" along the way such as Santa Maria and Turtle Bay. While we can't guarantee rough weather, there is usually a healthy dose of it.  8 days.

Fee:  $1495
March 18-26, 2009

San Francisco, CA - Newport Beach, CA

Sail under the Golden Gate Bridge and down the coast, stopping at a mixture of remote and popular anchorages.  The first few days are filled with traffic, radar watch, navigation and watch standing while running 24 hours.  Stops in Morro Bay, Northern Channel Islands and Catalina are welcome breaks for practicing anchoring and other cruising skills.  6 days.

Fee:  $1495
April 2009 After the Strictly Sail Boat Show

Newport Beach, CA - Honolulu, Hawaii (Transpac Race)

Alaska Eagle will be the communications boat for the legendary Transpac Race.  Keeping in the midst of the fleet makes this a demanding and exciting leg.  The Communications Officer will give special presentations onboard to supplement the celestial, weather and strategy lessons taught on our offshore legs. 13 days.

Fee:  $3995
June 29 - July 12, 2009

Honolulu, Hawaii - Victoria, Canada

Experience a classic ocean passage.  The first few days of this leg are upwind, often in a fresh breeze.  As the trip continues, you will fall into the rhythm of an ocean passage. Conditions will vary from fast reaches to the calm center of the Pacific High. Snow capped mountains provide a stunning backdrop as Eagle sails down the Straits of Juan de Fuca and into Victoria.  18 days.

Fee:  $3395
July 15 - August 2, 2009

Pacific Northwest Adventure

This all women's trip is designed to incorporate practical lessons in navigation, weather and sailing a big, beautiful boat.  Under the tutelage of three very experienced women sailors, Eagle will be stopping in some of the world's most beautiful anchorages.  We aren't looking for experts, but like all our legs, intermediate sailing is a prerequisite.   11 days.

Fee:  $2295
August 5 - August 16, 2009

Victoria, Canada - San Francisco, CA

While we never make promises about the weather, the West Coast can often dish up some pretty rough stuff.  This leg will have plenty of opportunities for maneuvering around traffic, navigating in various conditions, and studying weather.  A stop (or two) down the coast provides a chance to experience landfall, sometimes with a dramatic bar crossing.  12 days.

Fee:  $2495
August 20 - September 1, 2009

San Francisco, CA - Newport Beach, CA

Sailing out the Golden Gate Bridge is always a thrill, but there are plenty of additonal high points on this trip.  There will be stops at both remote and popular anchorages along the way. For those who have Bareboat experience or are considering buying their own boat, this is a perfect introduction to the rigors of coastal passage making.  6 days.
