Working towards a US SAILING Certification, or an OCC SA Lido or Shields Skipper Certification is an excellent way to focus your sailing goals.
You have multiple paths to choose from to obtain your certification(s).
BASIC KEELBOAT CERTIFICATION
Path 1
78 hrs of instruction - most popular path with a great pass rate.
Path 2
92 hrs of instruction - greater flexibility if you have to miss a class
Path 3
66 hrs of instruction
Upon completion of your Basic Keelboat Certification you are ready to move on to Basic Cruising, Bareboat Cruising and beyond:
BASIC CRUISING AND BAREBOAT CRUISING PATH
We recommend you get on the water several times before your Bareboat Certification Course and since navigation is an important aspect of Bareboat Cruising taking Coastal Navigation 1 prior to your Bareboat Course is also a good idea.
Please contact our office at 949-645-9412 with any questions you may have about the US SAILING Keelboat Certification System.
