Use the information below to learn more about sailing classes for youth ages 7 to 14 at Marina Park using the facility’s dinghies or keelboats. We have provided links for each class to help you find the registration page, class schedules and more information about upcoming classes and fees.

After School Sailing – Grades 1-6
Prerequisite: No prior experience needed. Open to all boys and girls in 1st through 6th grade. Students must provide their own transportation to and from Marina Park and be able to swim 50 yards.
Kids in grades 1-6 can learn how to sail with us aboard their very own sailboat! Our knowledgeable sailing instructors will teach how to sail using classroom instruction, demonstrations, and on-the-water coaching. Participants learn in an 8-foot single-person Sabot ideal for learning the basic concepts of sailing such as points of sail, tacking, and jibing. What to bring: Layered clothing appropriate for the season, a change of clothes, a towel, hat, sunscreen and a snack each day.

After School Sailing – Grades 7-12
Prerequisite: Open to all boys and girls in 7th through 12th grade with no experience necessary. Students must provide their own transportation to and from Marina Park and be able to swim 50 yards.
Designed especially for middle and high school students. New and returning sailors will build sailing skills and gain confidence on the water while sailing a variety of boats. A great class for students looking to join local sailing teams and for students looking to gain keelboat experience. What to bring: Layered clothing appropriate for the season, a change of clothes, a towel, hat, sunscreen and a snack each day.

Youth Beginning Sailing
Prerequisite: Ages 7-14. No prior experience needed. Participants must be 7 years of age or older on the first day of class and able to swim 50 yards.
Designed to plant a seed for the love of sailing, instructors will teach the basics using our 8-foot-single-person Sabots. New sailors ages 7-14 will learn basic sailing concepts including points of sail, tacking, jibing, water safety, basic terminology and knots.

Youth Beginning Double Handed Sailing
Prerequisite: Ages 10-14. Successful completion of Beginning Sailing or equivalent experience.
Moving on from sailing individually in the Sabot students will build on basic skills and learn the finer points of boat handling and sail theory while learning to work as part of a team on the 14’ RS Quest
